About Us
Dr. Laura Fitzharris is a veterinary surgeon and recognized specialist in Equine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation, bringing over a decade of expertise in diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating equine athletes. With advanced qualifications and experience in private referral hospitals, University settings, and international research, Laura provides a tailored, evidence-based approach to equine health and performance. Outside of her professional work, Laura is a dedicated athlete, competing in national and international water polo tournaments and as an Ironman triathlete, offering a unique perspective on high-performance training and recovery.
Services
Data Analysis
Equine wearable technology measures a wide range of parameters providing information on locomotor strategy, including stride length, frequency, and measure of recovery. Detailed analysis provides training information to optimise welfare and performance.
ECG Analysis
An electrocardiogram (ECG) can be recorded during exercise using wearable devises. An ECG requires expert analysis, particularly if there are concerns about the heart rate response to exercise to detect the presence of arrhythmias and other abnormalities.
Vet Services
Expert, second opinion, and referral veterinary services are offered by Dr Laura Fitzharris, a specialist in Equine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation. A wide range of in-person and remote telemedicine services are available covering all aspects of the performance horse.
